Ruderal Dreams

Media: Acrylic and mixed media
Size: 16 x 20″
Painted: 2013
I created this mixed media piece using acrylic for the background and then I used seashells and Japanese gold for the dandelion itself. The seashells are white/clear so when I take a picture of it from the front they don’t display the full “shine” that happens when light strike the piece. The second image is of this piece at an angle when the light hits it and the piece “lights up.”
I titled this piece “Ruderal Dreams.” The term Ruderal means “of rubble” and is a term used to describe the plant species that dandelions fall under.
This piece is sold and is no longer available for purchase. If interested in commissioning a piece like it, please contact via email. Thank you!
