This piece is part of my continuing exploration and use of Japanese gold in my artwork. I felt like the gold expressed life, even in a tree with no limbs. The dark circle is actually a raised, circular cut of a tree branch. That the gold and black was painted on. When the light hits the gold in this piece it really is a treat. It sits in a shadowbox to accommodate the wood it is painted on.
